A Spiritual Description of Self

Ladies and gentlemen, you have created the experience of reading the words before you right now for a purpose. Nothing happens in this world by chance. You have created and brought forth into your existence everything that has ever happened in your life. ?

You have created most of your life experiences unconsciously as an intension of promoting your ego based needs with this idea that you are separate from everything else and must therefore look out for number one. It is your choice to live and experience your life as what you perceive is best for you.?

Now, I want to challenge your idea of what is best for you.

When you sleepwalk through life you believe that you are a separate entity and what is best for you is to “win” and for the other guy (or girl) to “lose.” You make ego-based decisions to ensure this happens as much as possible because you believe that this is best for you.?

When you wake up and become aware that you are not separate from, but are one with, not only the God who created you, but all the rest of God’s creations, you change your thinking about what is best for you. You begin to realize the person you identify as yourself is in collaboration with all the other people you identify as not yourself.

It gets even bigger and better because you not only begin to identify your self as one with all the individual bodies of the planet, but you are one with all of God’s creations. You were created in the image and likeness of God. God is the source of all that is. You are the same stuff as God. You are the source of all that is.

This elevates your perception of Self from a being with limited talents and capabilities to one with no limits and enough talent to be whomever you choose to be. Kind of expands your possibilities, doesn’t it?

What if you actually lived in a world where the base thought was not one of separation but one of unity? You would still be a human being. But now your concept of who you are would say that we are a human “being”. It’s a matter of perception. A point of view that elevates the concept of your “beingness.” It puts a priority on what you are “being,” not on what you are “doing.” Remember we are human beings, not human doings.?

For the purpose of visualizing the intent of this article I ask you to use the base thoughts and perceptions that describe unity consciousness and the concept of oneness. I would like you to think of yourself as a spirit child of God (remember, it all starts with a thought).

As such you were created in the image and likeness of God with all the same stuff that God has. You have within you the ability to create whatever you choose to determine who you are and who you desire to be. You are at free will with no restrictions (God does not care one way or the other what you do). You are in collaboration with God to occupy the physical relative planet called earth to experience in a physical form everything that you know in a conceptual form.

You understand that you are a three-part being made up of a mind, a body and a spirit (or soul), and that each of these parts has an equal and important function in the experience of your time on earth. Being in the likeness of God you realize that you are eternal and when it comes time for you to leave the earthly body you know that who you really are does not die but merely changes form to go on to the next creation that you desire.

As you prepare to enter the physical world you agree to forget who you really are under the proviso that you can use your life experiences and feelings to serve as memories. The part of your three-part being called your soul serves as the collector and storage bank of all your experiences and feelings. Under this proviso, you can use these collected feelings and experiences to reconnect the dots and make the puzzle fit together again.

In this manner you can remember who you really are by re-membering the puzzle parts (putting the puzzle together). It is your choice to do this. You aren’t required to do this while you are on your earthly expedition and you understand that even if you don’t re-member you will be reunited with God in the realm of the absolute upon the experience you commonly call your earthly death.

This re-unification is assured (there is no doubt about the outcome of your life) because you are one with God. It could be no other way. You understand that you continually evolve as you go from the realm of the absolute, to the realm of the physical, to the realm of the absolute, to the realm of the physical. You know it is a cycle and you observe that all of life is experienced in cycles.

You observe and accept the dichotomies of life as part of the symmetry that serves the grand purpose of your evolution. You accept all of life’s experiences and feelings and are grateful for everything that shows up in your relative existence, because you know that you created or co-created it all.

You understand that if something shows up that doesn’t serve you, you need to merely accept it and acknowledge that it doesn’t serve you. You then choose another thought that does serve you. You understand and value that this process of evolution you experience constantly changes, so you are eternally grateful for the never ending parade of thoughts and ideas that allow you to choose who you are and who you next determine yourself to be.

? You don’t just understand with deep clarity, but you “know”, with every fiber of your being, that you are one with everything that exists, seen and unseen. Sounds like you are describing God, doesn’t it?
